Sikles Trek

Excellent mountain views

A perfect Trek for a wide range of fitness levels. Also enjoyable for Children. This trek will lead you along the Mardi River to the south slopes of Machapuchre and Annapurna with some majestic mountain views and the possiblity of joining a rafting trip straight after the Trek.

Where are you going?

Day 1: Fly to Pokhara. EURO 60 one-way.

Days 2-3: Following the Mardi Khola. The people here are mainly Gurung tribes with a friendly and welcoming attitude. The perfectly paved trails follow the river and past rice fields to climb through alpine meadows and forests to the village of Siklish. The mighty Himalayas are just being revealed a short hike behind the village with many 6000m+ peaks and the Glacier that feeds the Mardi Kohla.

Days 4-5: Tara Top(3025m) offers a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the Annapurnas, central Nepal and the foothills dropping towards the plains of India - we will camp there to enjoy the unforgettable sunset and sunrise.

Days 6-7: The seldom-visited village of Ghalegaon is a definite highlight of this trek. Passing through a shady rhododendron forest filled with orchids, lichen and moss the trail descends steeply to Bhurjung Khola village. A small stream leads down into the Pokhara Valley where transport to Pokhara awaits. Alternatively you will be hiking back via Shiklis to enjoy a Rafting journey down the Mardi River.
